Richard Fitzpatrick, President

Richard Fitzpatrick joined Park Place International in 2011 to help organize, develop, and govern an aggressive investment and expansion program as a MEDITECH-focused Technology Services Provider. Dick's strong skills in finance, governance, operations, and organization-building have been honed in roles as President and COO of JJWild, EVP of Waterfield Technology Group, and CFO of American Surgical Technologies.

Dick holds a bachelor's degree from Boston College and an MBA from Northeastern University. He resides in New Hampshire where he and his wife treasure long summer days by the lake with their growing group of grandchildren.

 

 

James Fitzgerald, Executive Vice-President and CTO

James Fitzgerald joined Park Place International in 2011. A well-known technology strategist and frequent writer and speaker within the MEDITECH, MUSE, and HIMSS communities, Jim is passionate about helping healthcare organizations of all sizes and types implement sustainable technology strategies that enhance the performance and availability of MEDITECH and other enterprise software whether in a hospital data center or in the cloud.

Jim's experience with MEDITECH began in 1983 at Microcom, Inc. More significant technology contributions to the MEDITECH community spanned 4 executive roles and 18 years from 1993 to 2011 at JJWild, which would become the MEDITECH Solutions Group within Perot Systems in 2007 and within Dell, Inc. in 2009. During this period, Jim was the co-architect and business lead behind “first-of-their-kind” technology solutions including JJWild's PrivateNet, JJWild's JSite Disaster Recovery Service, and Perot Systems' MSite MEDITECH Hosting Service. Jim also contributed significantly to efforts to drive the MEDITECH community to open IP-based networks in the 1990's, to develop standardized disaster recovery strategies around MEDITECH and BridgeHead's ISB/IDR technologies in the 2000's, and to introduce data center virtualization as a standardized deployment strategy for MEDITECH technology platforms beginning in 2007. At Dell, Jim mentored a team that developed a MEDITECH-centric version of Dell's Mobile Clinical Computing (MCC) solution and was a constant advocate for driving technology solutions to the cloud.

Jim holds a BA from Bates College and an MBA with high distinction from Babson College, where he was the 1992 winner of the Douglass Foundation Prize for Entrepreneurship. Jim resides in Massachusetts with his wife and children and enjoys music and virtually any activity related to the ocean.

 

 

Bryan Blood, Vice-President of Sales

Bryan Blood joined Park Place International in 2011 with a mission to enhance an existing high-performing customer service-centric sales team with greater reach, deeper technical understanding, and direct on-site presence. An engineer turned sales leader, Bryan insists on delivering “the engineering answer” – honest, thoughtful technology advisory which meets both the operational and financial needs of the healthcare community. Bryan's integrity and relentless work ethic have earned him the respect and trust of MEDITECH's customers, sales team, and technology partners like BridgeHead, Cisco, EMC, HP, IBM, and VMware.

Bryan's experience with MEDITECH began in 1991 at Microcom, Inc. in roles as a support engineer, network and technology consultant. He joined JJWild in 1995 as a network consultant and transitioned into territory and regional sales roles, becoming a regional sales manager under Perot Systems' management of the MEDITECH Solutions Group and finally Midwest Director of Sales and a member of the Senior Management Team through 2011 under Dell's ownership.

Bryan holds dual BS degrees in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering from Trinity College. He lives in Massachusetts with his wife and 5 children. He is an avid downhill skier and enjoys repairing and maintaining vintage cars and trucks.

 

 

Jennifer Gesner, Chief Financial Officer

Jennifer Gesner is Chief Financial Officer for Park Place International and a member of the Executive leadership team. In this role, she is responsible for Global Controllership, Finance, Treasury, Tax, Analysis and Control, and Human Resources.

 

Jennifer brings a deep understanding of financial operations for MEDITECH-focused companies to the Park Place International Executive team. Before joining Park Place International, Jennifer was the Corporate Controller with responsibility for Finance, Accounting, and Administration at JJWild. During her tenure at JJWild, Jennifer provided financial oversight for the successful MEDITECH integration and consulting practice businesses, which continued after the acquisition by Perot Systems, and subsequently, Dell.

 

Jennifer earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting from North Adams State College.  Jennifer resides in Massachusetts with her husband and two daughters.  She is an avid runner and enjoys spending time with her family.

 

 

Joseph Kelly, Director of Technical Consulting

Joe has been working with Healthcare providers and/or payers since the mid 1980's and focused solely on MEDITECH and MEDITECH hospitals since 1997. Joe has provided technology consulting, architecture, design and planning services while at organizations such as EDS, JJWILD, Perot Systems, Dell Services, and since 2011, Park Place International. Joe's overall goal is to bring the leveraged, cloud-based virtual universe down to earth to most effectively meet real world objectives for MEDITECH hospitals. Joe has a BS in Computer Information Systems from Bentley University.

 

 

Mark Middleton, Director of Cloud Services

Mark served 29 years at CHRISTUS Health in the fields of Biomedical Engineering and Information Technology, leading projects such as a $30 million data center build, relocations, centralization of IT operations, and operating one of the largest MEDITECH Client/Server 5.X implementations in the nation. Mark's current work is the development of an array of managed cloud service offerings to enable MEDITECH customers to provide sustainable and cost effective operations for their facilities. Mark is a former finalist in Datamations' Data Center Executive Excellence Awards and holds degrees in Biomedical Technology and Business Administration, as well as the highest level ITIL Expert Certification.

 

 

Dan Spulecki, Director, Technology Solutions

Dan Spulecki is a motivated, service delivery professional with multiple skill sets and a successful 16-year track record of managing the delivery of technical professional services for Park Place International. As Director, Technology Solutions, Dan ensures Park Place International is a top services provider demonstrating his skills in customer service, organization, communication and problem solving.

Since his early days with Data General Corporation, Dan has accumulated over thirty years of computer IT experience focusing on system implementations and services delivery. With over 500 successful project implementations completed during his 16 year tenure with Park Place International, Dan has proven himself to be among the most experienced in his field, and possesses a deep understanding of a client's MEDITECH environment and system requirements. He possesses a talent for quickly mastering technology fundamentals, personnel and resource management, project scheduling and cost management. His diplomatic and tactful approach with customers and business partners results in cooperative working environments in multi-vendor implementations.

 

 

Jayson Stokes, Director, Technology Solutions

Jayson joined Park Place International in 2008 to implement and oversee its virtualization strategy. Jayson brings 18 years' experience in the IT industry with the last 10 focused specifically within the MEDITECH market.

Jayson leverages wide ranging practical knowledge to create innovative processes, positioning an enterprise at the forefront of the industry. As virtualization within the MEDITECH community continues to grow at record pace, Jayson possesses a unique skillset that allows him to not only develop and drive the business, but also continues to ensure high levels of quality as an individual contributor, performing the implementations, support and training within the virtualization space. Jayson graduated in 1991 from Boston University with a BA in Psychology, under a full-scholarship for running Track.

 

 

Matt Donahue, Senior Engineer, Office of the CTO

Matt has been working with MEDITECH and their hospital customers for over 10 years across multiple roles as both an end user customer at Saints Medical Center and as service provider with JJWild, Perot Systems, Dell Services and Park Place International. Matt's current professional goal is to redefine traditional backend infrastructure technologies used by hospitals to allow true adoption of cloud services and achieve an “always available from anywhere” architecture. Matt studied Applied Mathematics and Physics at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and is a regular guest speaker in their Operations and Information System department.

 

 

Rob Bruno, Senior Technical Principal, Office of the CTO

Rob has closely worked with MEDITECH senior engineering since 1991 while working for Gandalf Systems. After joining JJWild in 1993, and subsequently Perot Systems and Dell Services, he has continued to work closely with engineering resources to develop customer support networks; disaster recovery procedures and cloud based hosting facilities. Rob shares a common goal of making the cloud computing model work in the real world of Healthcare Information Systems. Rob holds a B.A. in Computer Information Sciences and Mathematics from Iona College.
